How long should you Meditate?
"There are two different views on this: 1. Any time spent meditating is good, no matter how short. 2. The longer you meditate for, the better. The thing is, they’re both right. Even five minutes a day is better than nothing, and a longer meditation session can be more beneficial than a shorter one. Half an hour a day might be a good starting point, but the key is what works for you. The most important thing is keeping a regular meditation practice. If you practice for so long
Meditation and pain
“Meditation has an impact on the expression of certain genes, and on our experience of pain. I'd say that's motivation to at least give it a try.”-Daniel Goleman #Meditation #Pain #Mindfulnessreaearch #mindfulnesschicago
TO BE MORE MINDFUL.....
PAUSE. At least once each day, pause and bring your attention to what you are doing. Notice what’s happening in the present moment with the intention of letting go of the surrounding story. Just know what is happening as it is happening. Sit--and know you are sitting, walk--and know you are walking, type--and know you are typing…… It’s that simple—but not easy to remember. #mindfulness #Mindfulnesstips #Dailymindful #mindfulnesschicago
