TO BE MORE MINDFUL.....
Practice being aware of what’s going on inside and around you--just notice without judging as good or bad. Periodically throughout your day, ask yourself, “what am I aware of right now?” A sound, a smell, an emotion or thought…. Just noticing—and letting go of the story that may arise—helps to develop our Mindfulness muscle. http://www.gaylebrickman.com/ #Chicagomindfulness #mindfulnesstips #Corporatemindfulness #mindfulnesschicago

TO BE MORE MINDFUL.....
Find short opportunities throughout the day to meditate. Longer meditations are great, but every moment of Mindfulness counts. Things that in the past felt like a waste of time--I now use as opportunities to practice. My top 5: 1. Sitting on an airplane 2. In a taxi, Uber or Lyft 3. Waiting for an appointment (OK to have eyes open--glance down instead of looking around) 4. Between meetings at work 5. Before falling asleep at night #corporatemindfulness #Chicagomindfulness #Me
TO BE MORE MINDFUL...
Know what you are doing-as you are doing it. Eat and know you are eating, walk and know you are walking, sit and know you are sitting….. No strain, no effort, just notice. It’s as simple as that—but NOT easy to remember. Each time you realize your mind has wandered, bring your attention back with kindness. #mindfulnesstools #MindfulnessChicago
TO BE MORE MINDFUL....
Notice when a difficult emotion arises. Can you name it? Sadness, anger, frustration, loneliness, jealousy, wanting……… Try being with it, feeling it in the body without pushing it away. When the story arises (which it probably will), return your attention to the sensations in your body. Nothing to do or change, just notice. Perhaps you can catch a glimpse of it as it passes away. #mindfulnesstips #MindfulnessChicago #MeditationChicago
